I got THE CALL today!! I am almost in disbelief. It has been so long, and I had truly given up on hearing anything until the end of January at the earliest, that receiving a referral right now is almost too hard to believe! But it is true! I haven't really had much chance to tell people that I moved up to the #1 spot, so I will have to move quickly to tell all about my potential Katie. All I can say is that she is currently 16 months old. I hope to have travel dates soon. The thought is that I may travel middle to end of January for the first trip, and then about 4-6 weeks later I would go back for the court trip. So, I will do my best to let everyone know what is happening from this point on. Watch out Tver, I will be there soon! Christy

I'm # 1!!!!

Since my last post, things have been moving very slowly. I have been #2 for so long that I was beginning to wonder if anyone would get a referral for a little girl. I got the call today at I am now #1. I had truly given up hope of seeing any progress until February or March. So, this is such a wonderful, early Christmas surprise!

I still don't have a good idea about when I should expect a referral call. Perhaps it will come at some time in January. However, I don't want to get my hopes up too high. I could end up waiting the same four months at the number one spot as I did at the number two spot. However, I'm next, and I still can't quite believe it!

Cindy is home from California. She's staying at Mom's for now. But it is nice to have her back home. I am hopeful that she will be my 'nanny' as I would so prefer Katie to have a one-on-one caregiver as opposed to a daycare. Not that I wouldn't go the daycare route if necessary, because there are some excellent programs, but because I think that Katie will just blossom with the kind of attention that Aunt Tinny would provide.

So, for now, I need to update pretty much all of my documents and get them signed, notarized, and apostilled and have them available to resubmission. There will be more to do when I get the real call, but I just take things one step at a time.
